Silver Alert Issued for Missing Chesterfield Man
Chesterfield, N.H. — A Silver Alert has been issued by New Hampshire State Police in the search for 77-year-old Robert Clay, who was reported missing on Tuesday evening. Clay was last seen around 8 p.m. at his home on Glebe Road. Family members believe he may have wandered off in an unknown direction.
Clay, who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds, has brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, white sneakers, and glasses, though it is unclear if he had a shirt on. Due to a diagnosis of late-stage dementia, concerns are heightened regarding his safety, particularly in the current extreme heat.
Search efforts have been extensive, with fire and rescue crews, K-9 units, drones, and even a Massachusetts State Police helicopter deployed to locate him. “Our concern is if he was on the road,” stated Sgt. Kevin Bronson of New Hampshire Fish and Game, highlighting the dangers posed by the high temperatures.
Mindy McAvoy, Clay’s daughter, expressed her anxiety, urging anyone with information to come forward. “I just want somebody to find him before it’s too late,” she said, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
The search will continue Wednesday morning, and anyone with information regarding Robert Clay’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact New Hampshire State Police at 603-223-4376.
