Extreme Heat Warning Issued for New Hampshire

Concord, NH — The National Weather Service has issued an “extreme heat warning” for Hillsborough and Merrimack counties as dangerously high temperatures are expected to continue throughout the week. The alert, announced Monday afternoon, warns that heat index values could soar up to 107 degrees, significantly increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Residents are urged to remain hydrated, stay indoors in air-conditioned spaces, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

On Tuesday, Concord could see temperatures reach 99 degrees, while areas like Nashua may hit highs of 101 degrees. The Seacoast will experience slightly cooler conditions around 97 degrees, with wind gusts topping 20 mph. Overnight lows will hover in the lower 70s.

As the week progresses, a slight cooldown is anticipated. Wednesday’s temperatures are expected to drop to near 90 in Concord and the Seacoast, and mid-60s at night. Rain is forecasted to move into the area Thursday, bringing temperatures down to the mid-70s and ushering in cooler overnight lows in the upper 50s.
