Statewide Wind Advisory Causes Power Outages Across New Hampshire
Manchester, N.H. — June 20, 2025
New Hampshire is experiencing significant weather disturbances today as windy conditions lead to over 10,000 power outages across the state. A wind advisory remains in effect statewide until 6 p.m., with gusts expected to reach between 35 to 45 mph in many areas. These strong winds have been reported in various cities, including Concord, where gusts reached 41 mph, and Manchester at 37 mph.
The high wind speeds have not only led to numerous power outages but have also created hazardous travel conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Loose objects are at risk of being blown around, posing potential dangers to the public.
Customers without power are urged to report their outages to utility companies daily until services are restored. Contact numbers include Eversource (1-800-662-7764), New Hampshire Electric Co-op (1-800-343-6432), Unitil (1-888-301-7700), and Liberty Utilities (1-855-349-9455).
Despite the blustery conditions, the winds are bringing a welcome change in temperature by pulling in cooler, dryer air, which is providing much-needed relief from recent heat and humidity. Although winds are anticipated to decrease through the evening, gusts could return overnight into Sunday.
Stay safe and informed as weather conditions continue to develop.
