New Hampshire Legislature Passes Budget Promoting Health Care Access and Reduced Regulations
Manchester, New Hampshire – In a pivotal move for residents, the New Hampshire legislature has approved a new state budget that significantly enhances health care accessibility and minimizes bureaucratic constraints. Among the key changes is the removal of the 15-mile exclusionary zone around critical access hospitals, which has previously hindered providers from delivering essential services in rural areas. This policy shift is expected to offer greater choice and improve competition within the health care sector, ultimately benefiting patients across the Granite State.
In addition to healthcare improvements, the budget also eliminates the requirement for state vehicle inspections, a decision celebrated by many as a step towards reducing unnecessary regulations.
Sarah Scott, Deputy State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH), praised the budget’s implications for citizens. “This is a significant win for patients across the Granite State. More than half of New Hampshire will see increased access and choices in their medical care, which can drive down costs and enhance service quality,” she stated.
Scott also emphasized the importance of the repeal of the vehicle inspection mandate, underscoring the time and money saved for Granite Staters. AFP-NH commends the cooperation among legislative leaders that resulted in these pivotal changes. The organization urges Governor Ayotte to swiftly sign the bill to fully realize the potential of the New Hampshire Advantage.
