Power Outages Impact Over 3,000 in New Hampshire Amid Heat Wave
MANCHESTER, N.H. — More than 3,000 homes and businesses in New Hampshire experienced power outages on Tuesday night, leaving many residents sweltering without air conditioning or fans during a notably hot and humid evening. As of 11:30 p.m., over 2,500 Eversource customers and 1,487 Unitil customers remained without electricity, according to utility reports.
The outages resulted from thunderstorms and vehicle accidents, though Eversource officials confirmed these incidents were not due to a strain on the power grid.
Residents are urged to report their outages daily to their respective utility providers until power is fully restored. Eversource can be contacted at 1-800-662-7764, while customers with New Hampshire Electric Co-op, Unitil, and Liberty Utilities can reach them at 1-800-343-6432, 1-888-301-7700, and 1-855-349-9455, respectively.
Utility companies are working diligently to restore power as quickly as possible, and those affected can stay informed through live stream updates via the WMUR Nowcast app.
As the heat wave persists, officials encourage residents to check on neighbors, especially the elderly, to ensure their safety and well-being amid the ongoing outages.
