Scarlett Johansson Celebrates Role in "Jurassic World: Rebirth" at London Premiere
LONDON (Reuters) — The global premiere of "Jurassic World: Rebirth" took place on June 17, 2025, at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, with a star-studded attendance including Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Mahershala Ali.
Scarlett Johansson reflected on her long-standing admiration for the "Jurassic Park" franchise, recalling the profound impact the original film had on her as a child. "I saw the first ‘Jurassic Park’ when I was 10, and it imprinted on me very deeply," she shared. Johansson expressed her lifelong aspiration to be part of the franchise, stating, "For the next three decades, I would have done anything to be in a Jurassic movie."
The film, directed by Gareth Edwards, follows a team of specialists on a thrilling expedition to a forbidden island housing a research facility linked to the original "Jurassic Park." Johansson and Bailey’s characters must procure DNA samples from three dinosaurs to facilitate a life-saving medical breakthrough.
Rupert Friend, who also stars as one of the specialists, shared his excitement about the film, emphasizing his love for adventure and unpredictability: "I love being taken on a ride where you don’t know what’s going to happen."
For Edwards, known for directing "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the reality of the film’s release and the associated pressures only became apparent upon arriving at the premiere. "It feels a bit weird, to be honest. I can’t quite get my head around it," he admitted.
"Jurassic World: Rebirth" is set to hit theaters on July 2 and promises to deliver the thrilling legacy of the beloved franchise.
