Fanatics Fest NYC Launches with Star-Studded Day Celebrating Sports Culture
June 20, 2023 – New York City kicked off the inaugural Fanatics Fest, dubbed “The World’s Largest Arena for Sports and Collectibles,” attracting an impressive array of celebrities and sports icons. The first day featured notable figures such as Jay-Z, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Logan Paul, Kevin Costner, and Russell Wilson.
One of the highlights was the “Only in New York: 37 Rings” panel, featuring Yankees legends Derek Jeter, CC Sabathia, Alex Rodriguez, Andy Pettitte, and Jorge Posada, alongside filmmaker Spike Lee, who commemorated New York’s rich sports heritage.
Tom Brady stole the spotlight when he made a grand entrance to WWE superstar Cody Rhodes’ theme, humorously draping a championship belt over his shoulder. In a light-hearted twist, Brady engaged the crowd by playfully ripping a jersey from a fan while jokingly stomping on it. He later encountered 20 lookalikes of Rob Gronkowski before finally finding the real deal, leading to a spontaneous game of catch in a hallway that ended with the Lombardi Trophy taking a tumble.
Brady also participated in a heartwarming Make-A-Wish meet-and-greet, fulfilling a young fan’s dream. Additionally, popular streamer IShowSpeed presented Brady with an Eli Manning jersey, requesting an autograph amid lively banter.
Meanwhile, Travis Scott dazzled attendees with a performance at a Meta and Oakley event, coinciding with the launch of new smart glasses.
Festival-goers marvelled at sports memorabilia valued in the hundreds of millions at the Museum of Greatness, showcasing items from legends like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. With exciting merchandise drops planned until the event concludes on June 22, including collaborations with renowned brands, Fanatics Fest promises to offer something for every sports enthusiast.
