An employee from the Songshan Shaolin Scenic Area confirmed that Wembanyama is maintaining a low profile, avoiding public appearances. Meanwhile, his team, the San Antonio Spurs, recently posted a video on Instagram of him visiting the Great Wall of China prior to his temple retreat, humorously noting his towering stature in comparison to the bridge there.
Wembanyama’s basketball season concluded prematurely due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, requiring surgery. Prior to this setback, he had been performing impressively, averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, and had participated in the NBA All-Star Game.
