InDepthNH.org Celebrates Lives of New Hampshire Community Members
InDepthNH.org highlights the recent passing of notable residents from New Hampshire each week, honoring their contributions to the community. Among those remembered are Edwina K. Brady, 84, of Grantham. A banker and artist, she played key roles in several associations and was a founding member of the Artesia Arts Council.
Lawrence Connell, 88, of Rye, left a significant mark in financial regulation as a pioneer in interstate banking reforms and served the National Credit Union Administration under President Jimmy Carter.
Dr. Dwight F. Damon, 93, of Merrimack, a long-time chiropractor and hypnotist, was honored as Citizen of the Year twice for his contributions to local celebrations and community wellness.
Mark H. Gardner, 70, of New Castle, made notable legal contributions over his career, while 100-year-old Hope Salta Makris of Laconia was celebrated for her lifelong dedication to the NASWA Resort, earning accolades as an award-winning pastry chef.
Remembered for military service and community work, Joseph Miller Orzech, 75, of Dalton, and George E. Privé, 83, of Hampton, contributed to military and health causes, respectively.
William C. Weir Sr., 85, of Colebrook, and former state Rep. Deborah Wheeler, 80, of Northfield, are also among those commemorated for their remarkable community impacts.
