New Hampshire Weather Update: Potential for Severe Storms This Friday

Flood Watch Issued for New Hampshire Amid Forecasted Storms

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A flood watch is in effect for all of New Hampshire, excluding Coos County, as slow-moving storms are predicted for Friday. The watch extends into the late evening, coinciding with a forecast of warm temperatures, with highs ranging from the 70s to near 80 degrees, slightly cooler than Thursday’s heat.

Meteorologists are anticipating showers and thunderstorms, particularly in southern regions. Some of these storms may be severe, carrying risks such as heavy downpours, gusty winds, and hail. The most significant risk for severe weather is expected between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., with localized flooding possible due to the expected heavy rainfall of up to 3 inches in certain areas.

On Saturday, the threat of showers and thunderstorms will persist statewide, marking what could be the 12th consecutive Saturday with measurable rain in Concord. However, Sunday is expected to offer a reprieve with more sunshine, lower humidity, and comfortable temperatures, also in the 70s.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and prepared for evolving weather conditions.
