Anna Grace Phelan, a 19-year-old TikTok star known for documenting her battle with brain cancer, passed away on Friday, as announced by her family on her TikTok account. Her family expressed their profound sadness in a statement, saying that Anna had “gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Hailing from Jefferson, Georgia, Anna had over 100,000 followers who closely followed her journey through the struggles of cancer, accumulating millions of views on her videos.
After graduating high school in May 2024, she was diagnosed with an inoperable stage four malignant brain tumor just before starting her freshman year of college. In August, she began sharing her medical updates on TikTok, initially discussing symptoms such as facial numbness and issues with her leg. An MRI later confirmed the presence of a brain lesion, which was biopsied. Unfortunately, on September 5, she received the devastating diagnosis of stage four glioblastoma, a particularly aggressive form of brain cancer.
Despite the grim news, Anna remained optimistic, stating, “I’m just going to trust in the Lord and try to keep pushing forward.” She continued to update her followers on her treatment journey, including radiation and physical therapy, even as her health declined. In one of her final videos, she revealed that her tumor had grown, making surgery impossible, but she maintained her faith, declaring her refusal to give up.
Anna worked as a receptionist at Georgia Skin Cancer and Aesthetic Dermatology and is survived by her parents, William “Buddy” and Nadine, her brother, Harper, and other family members. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday at Galilee Christian Church, where she was a member. Her family thanked the community for their support and prayers during her battle.
