ReGen Valley Tech Hub Gains Traction as Community Comes Together for Growth
MANCHESTER, NH – The ReGen Valley Tech Hub is evolving, with its latest community update highlighting a collective commitment to advancing the biofabrication industry while addressing housing, workforce development, education, and childcare needs. Over 300 attendees gathered at 150 Dow St., home to the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI), to discuss the ambitious goal of positioning southern New Hampshire as a global biofabrication hub, potentially creating 7,000 direct jobs over the next decade.
"While technology is crucial, a community-guided approach is essential," emphasized Flo Nicolas, ReGen Valley’s Chief Engagement Officer. The event featured insights from prominent figures including Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte and Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan, who emphasized the urgency of bipartisan support for sustaining federal funding in scientific research.
Funded by two significant grants totaling $88 million from the Biden administration, the initiative aims to bridge scientific innovation with practical patient care, potentially revolutionizing treatment for chronic diseases. Education and workforce development were integral themes, with local colleges introducing new certificate programs aligned with industry demands.
Key challenges remain, especially regarding housing and childcare, with an estimated 9,100 additional daycare slots needed. Community leaders stressed the importance of collaboration between businesses and local governments to create supportive infrastructure. The overarching message was clear: a united effort is pivotal in unlocking the full potential of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, benefiting both the economy and the local community.
