Trump Demands ‘Thorough Investigation’ into Celebrity Payments from Harris Campaign

Trump Calls for Investigation into Harris’ Celebrity Endorsements

Former President Donald Trump has demanded a “major investigation” into Vice President Kamala Harris’ use of celebrity endorsements during her 2024 presidential campaign. Taking to Truth Social, Trump questioned the financial details behind high-profile endorsements from stars such as Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bruce Springsteen.

In a series of posts, Trump expressed skepticism about the payments made to these celebrities, particularly highlighting potential illegality. “How much did Kamala Harris pay Bruce Springsteen for his poor performance during her campaign for president?” he asked. He also inquired about payments to Beyoncé and Bono, asserting that those amounts could constitute illegal campaign contributions.

Throughout her campaign, Harris garnered considerable attention from notable figures, including performances by Bon Iver, Maren Morris, and Megan Thee Stallion. However, the rally featuring Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland drew significant crowds, reportedly attracting 30,000 attendees, marking it as the largest of her campaign.

Trump alleged that Harris paid Beyoncé’s production company $11 million, but Federal Election Commission (FEC) records indicate otherwise; only $165,000 was paid for event production services. Furthermore, the Harris campaign reportedly paid $75,000 to Bruce Springsteen’s production team for travel and event-related expenses.

FEC filings mandate campaigns to disclose payments at fair market value and maintain transparency. Trump accused Harris and the entertainers of exploiting the system, calling their actions “unpatriotic.”

Additionally, a report claimed the Harris campaign paid Oprah’s Harpo Productions $1 million, though the media mogul denied receiving personal payment for her endorsement.

As Harris wrapped up her campaign with over $1 billion raised but a $20 million deficit, the spotlight remains on her celebrity connections amidst Trump’s allegations.
