New Hampshire Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Sullivan, Cheshire, and Grafton counties, effective until 8 p.m. Saturday. This alert signifies that conditions are ripe for the development of storms capable of producing damaging winds and hail.

Residents should prepare to seek shelter indoors as the weather evolves. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected during midday, but the afternoon may bring some sunshine, warming temperatures into the 70s. However, the Lakes Region and Mt. Washington Valley may see cooler conditions due to persistent cloud cover.

Between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., more scattered thunderstorms are likely, some of which could be severe. Residents should be vigilant, as these storms may produce heavy downpours, hail, and strong wind gusts.

As night falls, temperatures will drop with the passage of a cold front, leading to a less humid Sunday morning. Although the day will start sunny, clouds will increase by the afternoon, with scattered showers predicted later. Expect cooler temperatures, with highs in the 60s.

Looking ahead, a cooler weather pattern will dominate the coming week, with most days featuring temperatures in the 50s to lower 60s. Monday and Tuesday may bring isolated showers, with more extensive rainfall anticipated later in the week.
