Warm Weather Meets Race Day Excitement at Northeast Classic in Loudon

LOUDON, N.H. — The fifth annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway drew race fans to the "Magic Mile" under unseasonably warm conditions on Saturday. Despite concerns from officials about the weather after a recent snowstorm, race activities went ahead smoothly thanks to the efforts of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series.

The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour kicked off its season with a 34-car field. Gabe Brown advanced to the pole position, overcoming mechanical issues during practice. Tom Carey III initially led the pack before Brown took control shortly after. A caution on lap 17 allowed teams to regroup. Brown’s strong performance continued until mechanical failure struck Cam Huntress’s machine, narrowing the competition.

As the race neared its end, a final caution led to an intense five-lap shootout. Brown rode the wave of adrenaline to claim victory, marking his first win at New Hampshire. Brandon Barker and Derek Gluchacki took second and third, respectively, while D.J. Shaw rounded out the top five.

The Pro All Stars Series began its feature event with the front row featuring Eddie MacDonald and Ryan Kuhn. Derek Griffith eventually seized the lead to collect his first Northeast Classic win. MacDonald and Johnny Clark completed the podium.

Next, the Pro Truck Challenge Series encountered drama when Randy Burr was disqualified, handing the victory to Ryan Kuhn after Duane Knoll finished first on the track. The Mighty Modifieds exhibition saw Jon McKennedy hold off a challenging field for the win.

The day concluded with the R&R Race Parts Open Street Stock Series, where Kris Watson secured his first Northeast Classic victory, flanked by Derek Gluchacki and Ryan Lineham.

The event showcased fierce competition and resilience, highlighting a thrilling start to the racing season.
