Nashua Woman Charged in Connection with Child’s Fentanyl Overdose
NASHUA, N.H. — A Nashua woman, Karrie McMurray, 45, is facing drug charges following an incident involving a fentanyl overdose of a child. Authorities reported that McMurray is set to be arraigned later this month in Nashua’s 9th Circuit Court. The charges against her include possession of a Class B drug and four counts related to dealing with or possessing prescription medication.
The investigation began when officers responded to an emergency call on June 27, 2024, where they discovered an unconscious juvenile who had suffered a fentanyl overdose. Quick life-saving measures were administered at the scene, and the child was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where they regained consciousness.
While police have not confirmed if McMurray is related to the child, she was released on $250 cash bail following her arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or related circumstances to contact the Nashua Police Department at 603-589-1665.
This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding the opioid crisis, particularly its impact on vulnerable populations, including children. As investigations continue, updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
