The 2025 London Marathon was a resounding success, drawing an unprecedented 56,000 participants, including celebrities, MPs, and creative costumes, such as a duo dressed as a slinky dog. With many hoping for personal bests amidst the sizzling summer heat, the event showcased remarkable endurance and spirit.

Among the notable participants was radio presenter Chris Evans, who crossed the finish line alongside EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt. Runners celebrated personal milestones, including 33-year-old Amie Begin, who completed her sixth World Major Marathon, raising £2,500 for PHAB, a charity supporting individuals with disabilities. However, many runners faced challenges from the heat, as Lindsey Burwell expressed, noting it hindered her performance despite enjoying the atmosphere.

The race also featured poignant stories, with David Stancombe and Sergio Aguiar running to honor their daughters tragically lost in a knife attack last year. Stancombe completed the marathon in under four and a half hours, visibly emotional. Aguiar finished just over four hours, expressing pride in creating a playground in his daughter’s memory.

Creative costumes were abundant, from a humorous pizza suit to fluorescent Ninja Turtle outfits. Adele Roberts, a radio DJ and cancer survivor, demonstrated resilience, pushing through mile 21 after overcoming personal health battles.

Elite races were equally thrilling, with Sebastian Sawe winning the men’s category in a remarkable 2 hours, 2 minutes, and Tigst Assefa taking the women’s title at 2 hours, 15 minutes. The race concluded with heartfelt cheers, as many raised funds for important causes, ensuring this year’s marathon was not just a test of speed but a celebration of community and resilience.
