It is important to differentiate between watches and warnings for severe weather. A watch means conditions are favorable, while a warning indicates that the threat is happening or imminent, requiring immediate action to stay safe. In the event of thunderstorms or tornadoes, seek shelter in the lowest level of your home or an interior room without windows. For flash flooding, move to higher ground and have an evacuation plan in place if you live in flood-prone areas.
