Nor’east Architectural Antiques in New Hampshire houses a collection of antiques dating back more than 300 years. The warehouse, owned by an antiques hunter, features over 10,000 square feet of salvaged antiques and building materials. The purpose of the architectural salvage company is to give vintage items a second life, preserving their history and craftsmanship.
Rachel Holt from WBZ-TV visited the Granite State to learn more about the antiques and the practice of salvaging and repurposing old items. The collection at Nor’east Architectural Antiques includes a variety of items such as doors, hardware, lighting fixtures, and other architectural elements, all with a rich history dating back centuries.
The antiques hunter and owner of the warehouse explained the importance of preserving these items and giving them a new purpose. By salvaging antiques, they are able to prevent them from ending up in landfills and instead, provide them with a new life in modern homes and buildings.
With a growing interest in sustainability and preserving history, the practice of salvaging and repurposing antiques has become more popular in recent years.
