Three killed in boating accident during Alabama fishing competition


Three people tragically lost their lives in a boat crash on Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama during a fishing tournament. The incident occurred on the second day of the Tackle Warehouse Invitational when a Nitro Bass Boat collided with a Center Console boat at 7:03 a.m. The victims were identified as Joey M. Broom, John K. Clark, and Jeffrey C. Little, all of whom were on the Center Console boat. Clark and Little were thrown overboard and drowned, while Broom succumbed to his injuries from the crash. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is actively investigating the incident.

Major League Fishing, the organization hosting the tournament, expressed their condolences and canceled the third and final day of the competition in response to the tragedy.
