NH man set to enter guilty plea for charge

Former Harvard Medical School morgue manager, Cedric Lodge, from Goffstown, New Hampshire, is set to plead guilty to charges of stealing and selling body parts. Lodge was indicted in 2023 for allegedly stealing human remains from the school and selling them to individuals in multiple states between 2018 and 2023. According to federal court documents, Lodge has agreed to plead guilty to interstate transport of stolen goods, with four other charges being dropped. The indictment accused Lodge of stealing dissected portions of donated cadavers, including heads, brains, skin, and bones. Lodge’s legal team had previously filed a motion to dismiss the charges, arguing that human body parts are not legally considered property and cannot be assigned a market value.

If convicted, Lodge faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and a maximum supervised release term of three years. His trial was scheduled for May, but a hearing on his plea change has not been set. Lodge’s wife, Denise, had previously pleaded guilty to one charge in federal court in Pennsylvania related to interstate transport of stolen goods. As part of her plea deal, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the conspiracy charge she faced.
