Israel’s airstrikes cause Gaza to go without aid for an extended period

The Gaza Strip is facing a severe humanitarian crisis as Israel intensifies its military operations and maintains a blockade that has prevented food and medical supplies from entering for over three weeks. The United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees has warned that critical supplies are severely depleted, and the World Food Programme only has enough food stocks for another two weeks. The death toll in Gaza since the conflict began in October has surpassed 50,000, with over 180 children killed in a single day in March.

Amid the ongoing violence, an Israeli missile struck a family home in Gaza City, killing 15 people, including women and children. Families are devastated as they search for missing loved ones in hospitals and under rubble. Firefighters and rescue workers are facing challenges in retrieving bodies due to limited equipment and resources.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that nine emergency medics remain missing after being targeted by Israeli forces in Rafah, calling on the international community to pressure Israel to reveal their fate. UNRWA has also reported that four staff members were injured by Israeli strikes in March, and distribution centers in Gaza have been damaged.

Israel has stated its aim is to eliminate Hamas to prevent future attacks, but its aggression has escalated since breaking the ceasefire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised increased military strength in the assault on Gaza and threatened to take more land. The United States has also expressed support for Israel’s actions, with President Donald Trump issuing threats against the people of Gaza. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with thousands at risk of hunger, malnutrition, and further violence.
