Officials from Prodech, following a trade mission led by Governor Maru Campos last October, recently held meetings with suppliers of Taiwanese companies Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron, which have a presence in Chihuahua and are interested in expanding their investments. The focus of these meetings was on strengthening the local value chain, promoting the expansion of operations, and creating new employment opportunities in advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.
The main objective of these meetings is to attract back end processes or ATP (Advanced Test and Packaging) related to semiconductors, which include assembly, testing, and packaging. By doing so, Chihuahua aims to solidify its position as a national leader in this sector and enhance its technology industry, contributing to economic growth in the state.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) recently launched a Training and Education Program in Taiwan for young people from Chihuahua, with a focus on expanding knowledge in semiconductors, electric vehicles, and automation.
These initiatives are part of a larger effort to consolidate the technology industry in Chihuahua, attract strategic investments, and develop specialized talent to foster innovation and industrial growth in the region. By creating a favorable ecosystem for tech companies, the state aims to further enhance its position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.
