Boston College Women’s Basketball Dominates New Hampshire, Improves to 5-1

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball secured an impressive 80-45 victory against New Hampshire on Wednesday evening at Conte Forum, maintaining their undefeated home record and improving their season record to 5-1. The loss brought New Hampshire’s record to 4-2.

The Eagles showcased a strong offensive performance, led by Dontavia Waggoner who scored a game-high 16 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting. Andrea Daley contributed significantly with 12 points and five rebounds, highlighting the team’s balanced scoring, as 11 of the 12 players who took the court found the scoreboard.

Kaylah Ivey excelled in facilitating offense, recording a game-high 12 assists without a single turnover, while Tatum Greene grabbed a career-best seven rebounds. The Eagles’ defensive strategy stifled UNH, limiting them to just 33% shooting in the first quarter. An 11-4 run, featuring three three-pointers, gave Boston College an early lead of 17-10.

BC intensified their performance in the second quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 26-11 and maintaining a commanding lead. The dominance continued into the second half, where the Eagles further extended their advantage to as much as 38 points.

Defensively, Boston College forced 22 turnovers leading to 22 points, and tallied 46 points in the paint. The bench played a vital role, contributing 40 points, with Athena Tomlinson and JaKayla Thompson reaching personal bests of nine points each.

Head coach Joanan Bernabei-McNamee’s squad will embark on a five-game road trip, starting Saturday against Holy Cross at 2 p.m. This win represents BC’s fourth victory this season by 30 or more points, reinforcing their competitive prowess in women’s basketball.
