In preparation for Election Day, Rhode Island Democrats are mobilizing to support the Harris-Walz ticket in New Hampshire. With a recent survey showing Vice President Kamala Harris leading in the state, volunteers from Rhode Island are planning to go door-to-door in New Hampshire to help turn the state blue. The Rhode Island chapter of the AFL-CIO is organizing these efforts, spurred on by a recent fundraiser that raised over $200,000 for the Democratic presidential campaign in swing states.
At the fundraiser, attended by prominent Democrats including U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, attendees were urged to dedicate their time and resources to the ground game in swing states. Raimondo emphasized the importance of grassroots efforts in securing a win for the Democrats on Election Day. Rhode Island Democrats also raised significant funds when vice presidential candidate Tim Walz visited earlier in the year, with the money going towards field offices in key swing states.
With the election rapidly approaching, Rhode Island Democrats are committed to continuing their support for the Harris-Walz ticket. Despite Rhode Island’s small size, the contributions and efforts of volunteers are seen as valuable in the larger context of the election. With a lead for Harris in both Rhode Island and New Hampshire, Democrats are hopeful that their efforts will result in a successful outcome on Election Day.
