Northern areas experience snow accumulation

Residents of New Hampshire woke up to snow on Monday morning, with light accumulation in many parts of the northern half of the state. Some flurries were also seen in southern New Hampshire. The winterlike weather continued into Monday night with cold temperatures in the teens and 20s, although slightly warmer along the coast.

Tuesday is expected to have a cool feel with increasing clouds and a warm front bringing showers at night. Despite the rain, it may not be enough to alleviate the ongoing drought in the southern part of the state. By Wednesday, sunshine is expected to return with temperatures nearing 70 degrees, and even warmer temperatures are anticipated on Halloween.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware by downloading the WMUR app for weather alerts and coverage. The Very Local app also provides storm coverage on smart TVs. The Storm Watch 9 team is active on social media for updates. Videos of the snowy scenes can also be viewed online.

The sudden snowfall and upcoming weather changes are keeping residents on their toes as they prepare for a mix of winter and warmer temperatures in the week ahead.
